NUSASTHESIS

Nagaland University (Central University) was established in 1984 through an Act passed by the Parliament vide No, 35 of 1989 with its headquarters at lumami, Zunheboto District. ‘SAS is one of the six Schools of Nagaland University. The School of Agricultural Sciences (SAS) Is a premier institute in the field of Agriculture in North East Fill Region of India. The ‘School was established as College of Agriculture under the erstwhile North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) on 20th October 1978 which was later upgraded to School of Agricultural Sciences (SAS) in 1985 and became an integral part of Nagaland University in 1994 and was recognized by ICAR-NARS system in 2006.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES

  • To disseminate advanced knowledge through teaching, research and extension in the Field of Agricultural Sciences and allied disciplines. 
  • To develop skill oriented vocational courses for self-employment and agricultural and Allied sectors. 
  • To take appropriate measures for promoting innovations in teaching learning process and research in order to educate and equip human resources in the field of agriculture.
  • To provide technical knowledge through hands on trainings and field demonstrations to the farming community.
  • To promote sustainable hill agriculture in the state and region.

LIBRARY

The school library building has reading space of about 50 capacities, well furnished, having all modern features and facilities, internet, Wi-Fi , conference hall & Recording studio within the building. The library's operations are automated with KOHA software, and security is enhanced through an RFID-based system. It has 50,000 volumes on. agricultural and allied subject including text book, reference books, bound journals, thesis and other e-resources materials.
